Deer Hunt 2011

I know this is months late but I just had to share my first deer hunt experience! Sam had a tag this year and so did my uncle John, cousin Taylor, cousin Robbie and my dad. We all went to my family's ranch from Oct. 22nd-26th. On opening day (22nd) my cousin Taylor shot the first deer of the season. My cousin Robbie shot his not even 10 minutes after. The next day Sam shot at two deer but didn't take either of them. On the 24th some of us got together and did a big walking push over a ridge where Sam had shot at his deer the night before. Sam waited at the bottom of the ravine while John, Robbie, my dad and I fanned out and started walking across and down the ridge. A big buck ran out and Sam shot it! It was a nice, big buck. The next day it was Robbie, Sam, uncle John and I and we left early in the morning. Just as we got up on top of a trail we saw a buck grazing while snow was coming down. Robbie whistled to make it bring its head up and it was a MONSTER! John was the only one that hadn't taken a deer and he brought it down in one shot! We had to leave before my dad shot his deer but he got one as well. We had lots of helpers to spot deer and to spend time with. We were surrounded by lots of family and fun and food. It was seriously so much fun! I hope to get a tag of my own one day :)
